I-19 #429po- A lovely cabinet card Victorian era black & white photograph of an adorable infant. This lovely photo measures 4 1/4" x 6 1/2" (size introduced in 1866) and shows a darling baby dressed in white dress sitting on a 19th century woven coverlet and seems to be a wee bit camera shy. The bottom has the name of the photographer, "Gaugler" and the place, "408 Market St, Harrisburg, PA." The back of the photo is as pretty as the front with a typical elaborate Victorian floral design & scenic paint pallet. It says, "Artistic Photography". It states that duplicates can be procured at any time. It also states "Instantaneous portraits of children a successful specialty". (Since you had to hold perfectly still for several minutes, I'm sure this was a specialty). The name E. K. Gaugler, (the Photographer), and address appears at the bottom. This is a beautiful early photograph that would add historical charm to your collection or look stunning with other pieces from this time period. See condition below>
SIZE: 4.25" x 6.5"
CONDITION: Pre-owned -Antique; no tears or folds; very very slight soil spots.
