#160kw - From the days of necessity when pinching pennies and being conservative was a way of life, comes this vintage heavy gauge metal soap saver. This piece, designed to hold remnants of soap that were too small to be practical for use, utilized these bits of soap by placing them inside a soap saver. This piece was then swished through your dishpan or laundry tub to create suds for washing. This piece opens by squeezing the handles of the divice to insert the soap remnants into the basket cage. The holes in the cage, allow free flowing water to reach the soap, and create the suds. It measures 11" long. The basket cage measures 3 1/8" x 2 3/4" x 1 1/2" deep. There is no manufacturer's mark on the piece. It comes with the demonstration soap bit. A nice addition to your early washday collectibles. I think this would be a very useful tool in today's world too, considering the price of soap.
Condition: Very good; in good working order; spring action keeps cage tightly closed; characteristic age oxidation of the metal.
